NBC New York biography

NBC New York is the New York City-based flagship station of the NBC television network, owned and operated by NBCUniversal. It broadcasts daily news, sports and weather updates in the New York area.

NBC New York controversies

In 2012, NBC New York came under fire when it incorrectly reported the shooter of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was Ryan Lanza, the brother of the actual shooter, Adam Lanza. The station quickly issued a correction, but faced criticism for the mistake. In 2015, the station was again criticized for a news report that suggested Asian-Americans were to blame for a measles outbreak in New York City. The report sparked outrage on social media and led to an apology from the station.
