What inspired you to become a musician?
Joey and Tim both grew up in a musical family. Their dad played guitar and their mom played piano, so there was always music around the house. They started playing together as teenagers and found that they had a great musical chemistry.
What is your creative process like?
It varies from song to song, but usually one of us will come up with an idea for a song and we’ll work on it together. Sometimes we’ll start with a riff or a melody, and sometimes we’ll start with lyrics. We try to keep an open mind and let the song develop naturally.
What sets your music apart from other Canadian rock bands?
We try to blend different musical styles and influences in our music, from classic rock and blues to indie and alternative. We also put a lot of emphasis on our live show and try to create an energetic and memorable experience for our fans.
How has your music evolved over the years?
We’ve become more confident in our songwriting and more experimental in our sound. We’ve also learned a lot about the business side of the music industry and have become more independent and self-sufficient.
What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
Stay true to yourself and your music. Don’t try to be something you’re not. Also, be prepared to work hard and make sacrifices. The music industry can be tough, but if you love what you do and stay focused, you can make it.
What are your future plans?
We want to keep making music and touring as much as possible. We’re always working on new material and trying to grow as musicians and performers.
What’s one thing your fans might be surprised to learn about you?
We’re big fans of horror movies! We love anything that’s creepy or spooky.
What’s the best part about being a musician?
Playing live and connecting with our fans. There’s nothing like the energy and excitement of a great show.
What’s the most challenging part about being a musician?
The business side of the industry can be tough to navigate. It’s also challenging to balance touring and being away from home with personal relationships and responsibilities.
What’s one piece of advice you wish you had when you were starting out?
Don’t be afraid to take risks and try new things. You never know what might work until you try it.
